Boot configuration for multiboot MBR and GPT

Post by LillianQuinn »

In BootIt Collection, when using BootIt Bare Metal to install multi-boot between operating systems with different partition tables (MBR and GPT), how should users configure to ensure stable booting without losing data or causing boot loader errors?

If you have OSes installed for UEFI, then that is an entirely different environment, it's not just the partitioning type. There is hybrid booting which is very limited support and problematic, and if under 32bit lba, can be added to MBR to boot legacy (e.g. boot camp style), but it's ugly. You should run your system either UEFI or traditional / legacy BIOS depending on your needs.
