Additional followup re. Lenovo Legion

*** SOLVED, I THINK !! **

Hi,

FYI, I want to undo some of the things that I did previously to the Lenovo Legion that I have.

Specifically, I want configure it so that it has only the Windows 11 Pro partition and partition the rest of the disk for a DATA partition, and also not have it boot via BIU.

I am doing this because I am planning to give the laptop to one of my grand kids.

So, I used BIU to delete the 2 Windows 10 boot items and have also resized the partitions.

After I had done that, I was planning to then boot to the BIU USB stick and then have BIU do an uninstall, but I was kind of surprised that the machine was already booting straight to the Windows 11 (i.e., it wasn't booting to BIU any more).

So I am wondering: should I still do what I had planned and boot to the BIU USB stick and do the uninstall in BIU?

Or would it be ok and/or better to leave the laptop as it is right now?

I guess that at this point, BIU is still installed in the EFS partition, but just not activated?

Please advise.

Thanks,
Jim

EDIT 1: I booted to the BIU USB stick and looked at the BCD Edit in the EFS partition, and it looks like I was wrong about the current state of the machine.

There are 2 items:
- Windows 10
- Windows 11

Both items appear to be identical, i.e., they point to the same device ("Windows-SSD"), same path, etc. (NOTE: "Windows-SSD" was orig Win11)

ALSO when I booted to the BIU USB stick, it didn't offer the "re-enable BIU"... only the "Install BIU".

I guess that now, I am less sure about what is best to do? I would like to clean up the BCD because I'm worried that leaving it as it is, with the 2 identical items may mess something else later.

EDIT 2: This is a screenshot of the BCD edit of the SYSTEM_DRV/EFS partition:

EDIT 3: I think I am ok. What I ended up doing was (a) use BIU => EFS partition => BCD Edit and then remove the "Windows 10" item, then (b) Boot to the BIU USB and install BIU, then boot to BIU and select Uninstall on the top bar. After that rebooted the machine and it booted to Windows 11, and checking by using BIU from the USB stick the BCD only has the Windows 11 item.
