Why can't i register Image for DOS 4.03

Post by oldstoneview »

Hello i m using Image for DOS CUI/GUI 3.56 for quite sometime.
It has saved me on two occassion. I really like it. :)
Before i was using IFD 3.50, then upgraded to 3.56
But now it seems IFD 4.03 has been released but that version is not present in the Existing Customer Download portal.
Why is it like that. That is also affecting me. Why can't i download from there.
I had purchased IFD before, but now why cannot i download it.
Has the offer expired. :?:
Hope u understood.

Ps: Is there ever going to be somekind of discount like Summer Sales, Chritsmas sales etc. I could purchase it in a bulk.

OK so its an upgrade thing, some amount would be discounted and a user can avail the price tag, if it fulfills there need.
So what happens after v4.03, will there be an upgrade in the Existing Customer Download Portal or will a user need to pay for that too.
I mean v4.* and above.

Normally major versions (from v3 to v4, and eventually from v4 to v5) require payment (at a varying discount, depending on how recently you paid for the previous version). Here's the website that shows you the discount schedule: https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/kb ... formation/

And if you look here, you can see the update history for the DOS version: https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/upgra ... e-for-dos/ (scroll down to the bottom of the page to see a link to the history of the previous major version).

Here are the dates of the first release of each major version:
  • v4: 2024-05-19
  • v3: 2016-08-04
  • v2: 2007-12-20
  • v1: 2002-01-21
As you can see, TBU doesn't release a major update that often, so when they do, it's worth paying something to get the latest version. And if you bought a previous version in the last 7.5 years (January 2016), you get at least a 50% discount on the latest version (and an even better discount if you bought a previous version more recently). I think their update pricing is very fair.
