4TB-ext HDD not seen by IFL nor IFD

I have a 4TB HDD in an external enclosure, fitted with eSATA -and- USB
3.0, and formatted as NTFS and as a single partition.

In Win 7 Pro 64-bit w/SP1 IFW sees and accesses it just fine on either
eSATA -or USB 3.0

In IFL -and- IFD, neither one could see the 4TB ext HDD in either eSATA
-nor- USB 3.0

What's the limiting factor of I4D/I4L regarding such a large ext HDD?

If how it's partitioned, then what's the preferred setup?
Split in halves, split 3 way???

Any preferences to MBR -or- GPT?

USB3 from IFD comes from your BIOS. eSATA from the BIOS as well.

IFL from the Linux kernel.

What version of IFL are you booting?

I thought so, but how very odd not to be seen, and I set BIOS to IDE
just so it would be seen.

you'd want to run "viewreport" from the command line in IFL and then
"savereport" and email the report so it can be looked at (indicate what
device was attached where).

FYI,
3TB Toshiba/Hitachi sata drive seen by IDF (Image.exe) fine when formatted as NTFS and GPT partitioned (under windows) as a single large partition. (Windoes creates a small control partition as the first partition on disk. I do not know what it is used for, but IMAGE only sees the big NTFS partition.)

You're using a fairly current version correct?

In order for it to see a GPT, the place holder entry must exist in the MBR
with the correct ID.

Well, I have news that's bizarre, good, and odd;

Bizarre - can't type into command window in IFL (2.81)

Good - IFL(2.81) sees 4TB-ext HDD in USB 2.0 plus USB 3.0.....

Odd - ***IF*** I wait until IDL is fully up, THEN plug-in the ext HDD to
USB port. NOT seen if plugged in before IFL is up fully.

Best results if MoBo (ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe) is set to IDE, not ACHI mode.
Legacy USB support - Enabled
Legacy USB 3.0 support - Enabled
Full USB support during boot-up - Enabled (Off/KB&Mouse/Full - choices)

eSATA works fine, no problem seeing ext HDD.

Ext 4TB-HDD is inside an Icy Dock Blizzard w/eSATA and USB 3.0
connections.

Is that keyboard problem only happening with IFL 2.81, or did it also happen with the previous version you tried, which you said was 2.80? And is it just when typing into a terminal window, or all the time? IOW, does the KB work when using the IFL interface (i.e. pressing <x> should close IFL, etc.)?

Also, does the keyboard work if you select "Exit GUI To Console" from the right-click menu, and try typing from the Linux console? If it does, please create a report by running the command 'viewreport' from the prompt, and then save the text file it creates (report.txt) to a drive or partition to email to support. If needed, running the command 'savereport' will display basic instructions for doing that.
