The IFL CUI version doesn't rely on graphic so worth a try.

How long have you waited?

Does booting a USB Flash drive do the same thing (if you build it on your
non-uefi system, select one of the partition modes).

You also of course have the option of creating the TBWinRE boot disk.

ONLY ON THE PC. ALL OF WHAT YOU SAY HAPPENS ON THE PC. BUT NOT WITH THE
NOTEBOOK.
THIS IS AS FAR AS I GET WITH THE NOTEBOOK IT DOESN'T LOAD LIKE THE PC
Is the light on the CD/DVD drive done flickering?

IFL (GUI) NBD BEST AVAILABLE GM

and then nothing.

IT DOESN'T LOAD LIKE THE PC. THE PC LOADS WITHOUT ANY INTERRUPTION Or
CHOICES.

I'VE TESTED IT ON THE PC AND ITS FINE BUT NOT ON THE NOTEBOOK.

UP TO HALF AND HOUR WHEN I WALK AWAY TO DO OTHER THINGS.

I ASSUME YOU MEAN IFL ON A FLASH DRIVE? NO, I'LL NEED TO CLEAN ONE OUT FOR ONE (IF I DON'T IFL BOOT WILL) OR BUY A NEW OTHER.
THAT'S WHY I'VE BEEN USING CD/DVD'S. I'LL CHECK IT OUT.

I HAD A LOOK AT THE TUTORIAL IN THAT REGARD AND ITS NOT SIMPLE. I'M AN END USER AND AMAZED I'VE GOT THIS FAR.
I'LL THINK ITS WELL OUT OF MY DEPTH. I'VE GOT A COMPUTER IMAGE AND MAYBE I'LL HAVE TO SETTLE FOR THAT. CAN'T EXPECT
YOUR SOFTWARE TO HAVE CAUGHT UP WITH NOTEBOOKS RUNNING WIN8.1 AND I'VE NO WISH TO BE A BETA TESTER.

It's simple. Make an imagew.ini as per instructions. Then right click TBWinRE.cmd and Run as Administrator. Done. Follow instructions to make a CD. You don't need to use a DVD.

HOW DO YOU KNOW MY SYSTEM IS NON-UEFI?
I THINK THIS MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN MAKING A TBWinRE BOOT DISK OR IS NON-UEFI THE SAME AS LEGACY BIOS?

CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COUPLE OF LITTLE THINGS IN THE TUT. I HAD WORK AROUND BUT VERY SMALL ISSUES.
I DIDN'T GET A MODIFIED TROUBLESHOOT WINDOW (WHICH DIDN'T INCLUDE IFW) AND I COULDN'T START THE BOOT DISK FROM THE ADVANCED
OPTIONS WINDOW (IT COULDN'T SEE MY DVD/CD DRIVE). HOWEVER, I HAVE A TBWinRE BOOT DISK TO ADD TO MY DOS AND LINUX BOOT DISKS.

TO BOOT FROM THE TBWINRE DISK ON THE NOTEBOOK I NEED TO HIT <F11> TO GET TO A DOS SELECTION DRIVE WINDOW AT START UP. I HAVE THE DISK IN THE DRIVE AND IT TAKES A COUPLE OF MINUTES TO LOAD. BUT THERE IT IS: "IMAGE FOR WINDOWS (X64) 2.85" WINDOW.

SO I'LL USE THE TBWinRE BOOT DISK FOR THE NOTEBOOK WITH THE WIN8.1 OS SYSTEM AND THE LINUX BOOT DISK FOR THE PC WITH THE WINXP AND VISTA OS SYSTEMS.

CAN I GIVE A BIG THANK YOU TO BRIAN K WHO WITHOUT HIS PERSISTENCE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP LONG AGO. THANKS MATE.
AND TO THE TERABYTE TECHO BOYS FOR PUTTING UP WITH ME.

Actually, It's part of the package you bought. however the same boot disk does not work on the notebook even though the notebook made the boot disk.
