IFL doesn't recognize usb 3.0

hi,
I was a bit surprised when I plugged my usb 3.0 external drive into my USB 3.0 add in card and it didn't show up in IFL. I'm guessing that; had the USB 3.0 been integrated and seen by the Mboard bios, then IFL would have recognized it. But I'm not sure. I'd sure like to know if there is a way to include the drivers (for usb 3.0 addin cards) in the iso. Maybe using iso buster or something similar? I've been backing up to a Maxtor SSII NAS, but it's glacially slow. I've got 4 machines I'd like to b/u via usb 3.0 external drives.
Hoping this can be done.

Generally, USB 3.0 support does work in IFL. I'd suggest creating a report from IFL so hopefully we can see what driver is missing, or what else might be causing the drive not to show up. Of course, ensure that the USB 3.0 drive is plugged in when creating the report.

To do that, run the comand 'viewreport' from a command prompt (a terminal window if using IFL GUI). That will create the file report.txt in the current directory (/tbu/report.txt). From there, mount a drive or partition (such as a USB flash drive) to save the file to so it can be emailed to support. If needed, you can run the command 'savereport' for some basic help in mounting a drive or partition.

I have the same problem. I assumed it was because the Linux distro you use hadn't yet created the drivers needed for the Ivy Bridge processor and chipset that implement USB3 on my Samsung. But maybe not.

So when you say "create a report from IFL" does that include from the IFL CD?

And, does the fact that the computer itself runs Windows 7, and not Linux, make this unlikely to work in any case? Or is it just a question of finding the right Linux USB3 driver?

I have an Ivy Bridge processor (3770K) and IFL sees my USB 3 flash drive. (Asus motherboard with Z77 chipset)

XHCI is a standard, if it supports XHCI, it should just work.

It looks like the problem is 2 fold for me. 1) It had been awhile (if ever, i may have just used IFW) since I used IFL on the machine in question. With a little investigation I found that I'd installed a Renasas card, with which I've had nothing but trouble. On Other boxes I yanked the Renesas cards and replaced with ones using the Via 800 chip. Works well. The other problem I had was that the USB 3 Micro B port on the Bytecc HHD enclosure was so poorly attached and unsupported that It had become loose and while inspecting broke off. Why use a Micro B port at all is a mystery to me. It is more that a little difficult to insert the male micro b into the enclosure. IFL sees all usb attached devices just fine on another box.
