I'm using Image in the WinRe Recovery environment, and it is working perfectly for years. Recently, however, a Windows error required me to boot into "Safe Mode" to run a fix. According to the instructions: MSCONFIG options : I selected Safe Boot mode with networking and rebooted. Then winre started selected: troubleshoot (where image is also) -advanced options - startup settings - enable safe mode - Reboot. normal WIN 11 started. No safeMode Desktop. The SHIFT/Restart boot method did the same, no safeMode Desktop after enable safe mode reboot prompt.
What am I doing wrong? ----
Thank you in advance

Re: safe mode in WinRE Recovery Environment
I don't think that should cause any issues with booting Safe Mode. Safe Mode boots Windows, not WinRE. If you're selecting the Troubleshoot option, I think will boot into WinRE (which isn't what you want).
I just checked a Windows 11 system (with TBWinRE in WinRE) by selecting "Safe boot" on the Boot tab of MSCONFIG and restarting from its prompt and it booted normally into Safe Mode until I reconfigured it back to normal booting.
Possibly the booting failed for some reason and it defaulted to booting WinRE? Or was the system already configured to boot WinRE?

Re: safe mode in WinRE Recovery Environment
I should have learned by now. While I tried multiple times, I did not power off my machine.
It works now. I don't understand why, but it worked and fixed the problem.
Sorry. I'll reboot and power-off and try again, before asking for help next time.
Thank you for your very quick response.
