Just upgraded BIU to 2.02 from 1.xx - are image files still compatible? + 1 more ques

Hi,

Per the other thread, I just upgraded my BIU from 1.xx to 2.02, and I am wondering if the image files that I made previously are going to be compatible with the image app on my BIU 2.02 installation?


I also had a 2nd question re. upgrading the BIU... If I did NOT have BIU installed on my laptop before this "shim sbat" problem, would installing BIU 2.02 have fixed the "shim sbat" problem?

yes the image files can be restored with latest version. It wouldn't fix it for something else, just BIU itself.

I'm not clear about your response to my 2nd question...

Here's the scenario I was asking about:

- I have a laptop, with Windows 10... BIU is not installed... just Windows 10.
- At some point, I get that "shim sbat file" problem, then
- I purchase and install BIU 2.02.

Will that fix the "shim sbat file" problem and allow me to then boot into Windows 10 again?

P.S. Caveat to my question: I am not 100% that it is possible to get the "shim sbat file" problem on a laptop that has ONLY Windows 10 installed on it, because I've read that the problem happens when there was more than one OS installed..?

You have more than only Windows 10 installed as you also have BIU installed. BIU V1.** causes the error. That's why upgrading to V2.** solves your problem.

I think that I (not on purpose) confused you all.... The 2nd question wasn't about a scenario I actually have... it was a "theoretical" question, and in that question, I was asking about a "theoretical" situation where there was a laptop with ONLY Windows 10 installed. No BIU, no BIBM, no Linux... ONLY Windows 10.
