An IFL restore DVD has been successfully used for years on Windows 11 Pro. Worked fine a few weeks ago. (IFW 3.64 is in use.)
But today, this immediate message when the disk attempts to boot - sometimes even before it spins up...
"Shim SBAT DATA failed: Security Policy violation. Something is seriously wrong. SBAT self-check failed."
Measures taken...
1. Virus scan
2. Reboot
3. Creation of a new IFL recovery DVD-R disk via traditional (recommended) method.
The optical drive appears to be working normally.
Other than the usual Windows updates, no known changes have been made to the OS or BIOS settings.
What's the solution please? Thanks.

Re: IFL recovery disk fail
You'll have to disable safe boot or upgrade to V4.
Re: IFL recovery disk fail
4.02 has been purchased, installed, and its launch appears to be normal. Still, the IFL recovery disk message is unchanged.
Must yet another recovery disk be burned, now that the new version is in place? No change has been made to BIOS settings.

borate,
A little confusing. Have you made IFL 4.02 boot media?

Re: IFL recovery disk fail
you'll need to to create the V4 media using all the new items files.
Re: IFL recovery disk fail
As suspected. Done, and problem solved.
Now it makes sense why the former recovery disk succeeded for a time - prior to the MS update.
Thanks for the prompt responses.
