Windows 8.1, creating a new scheduled IFW x64 3.30 full backup, enter a pwd, click Schedule Backup, enter the time & Run as with my UID & correct PWD, OK & get "Error - Image for Windows Unable to schedule task. Reason: 71".
My web search isn't finding error code 71. Machine has a previously scheduled IFW task (different time) runs fine. Thanks

huh. The task (that errored on creation) was actually created in the Task Scheduler. In fact several were, as i tried it several times (same error each time). Manually Run the task, it runs. go figure..

I know this thread is 5 years old, but I'm having the same problem.
Windows 10 with all updates.
Less than a year old for Image for Windows.
I have Task 1 scheduled to back up drive C every Sunday at 4am. All well and good.
Today I'm trying to add a scheduled backup for the 6TB drive and every attempt to add this for Sunday morning 2 hours prior to the other backup gags with 71.
Ahhhh, just figured it out. Had to delete all of the machine stuff in front of my username. Don't know why IfW puts that there, but . . . nuking that got the job scheduled.
