Using Sysprep for Windows 10 Deployment

This article provides the basic steps necessary to create, Sysprep, and deploy Windows 10 images using TeraByte Image products (Image for Windows, Image for Linux, Image for DOS, Image for UEFI).

Note: To help avoid Sysprep issues and errors it's recommended to review the provided linked Microsoft articles for methods and work-arounds applicable to your scenario before beginning.

1. Install Windows 10 to the system.You may wish to have the system disconnected from the internet to prevent Windows from updating apps.
   
   
2. Configure the Windows 10 installation.
   
   
3. Run the Sysprep utility (sysprep.exe) to generalize the system. This utility is installed with Windows 10 and can be found in the C:\Windows\System32\sysprep folder. You must use the version of Sysprep installed with Windows (other versions are not supported). For example, you would select the Enter System Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) option, check the Generalize option, and select the Shutdown option.
   
   Command line usage example:
   sysprep.exe /generalize /shutdown /oobe
   
   
4. Create a backup image of the Windows 10 partition(s) using one of the TeraByte imaging programs.
   
   
5. Restore the image to the desired destination systems.
