Swap Must be Used When Booting Operating Systems from Alternate Hard Drives
When booting the following versions of Microsoft Windows from a hard drive that is not hard drive 0 (HD0), the Swap option must be enabled on the boot item:
- Windows 9x
- Windows ME
- Windows NT
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
- Windows 2003
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
- Windows 8.x
- Windows 10
Enabling the Swap option may also be required on some newer versions of Linux.
Note: On some systems it will be necessary to enable the Fix Swap option (in BootIt BM settings) in order for swapping to work. Most newer systems require this.
