While trying to boot, the BIOS issues an error message similar to one of the following:
Not found any [active partition] in HDD
Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device
Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot Device
These error messages usually indicate that there are no active primary partitions in the MBR on HD0.
You can use one of the following methods to set a partition active:
- Use BootIt BM. See How to Manually Set a Partition Active.
- Boot a DOS startup diskette and use MBRWork.
- Boot a DOS startup diskette and use FDisk.
