Message “Not found any [active partition] in HDD” During Boot
Problem:
While trying to boot, the BIOS issues an error message similar to one of the following:
Not found any [active partition] in HDD
Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device
Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot Device
Cause:
These error messages usually indicate that there are no active primary partitions in the MBR on HD0.
Solution:
You can use one of the following methods to set a partition active:
- Use BootIt BM. See How to Manually Set a Partition Active.
- Boot a DOS startup diskette and use MBRWork.
- Boot a DOS startup diskette and use FDisk.
