True. Does IFL support UEFI for booting. If yes one could use the "bless" command to boot directly from the iso without the need to create and extra partition

Just the linux boot disk for file writing to HFS+ (windows could do it if
you had a driver to support it).
The IFL boot disk isn't UEFI, it's standard, but you can use IFL on a linux
boot disk you set up.
