Every time I update the suite, I want to update the installed WinRE and also create a TBWinRE USB flash drive.

So obviously, I have to run "Modify the installed Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)."

But I always wonder (because my memory sucks): Do I also need to run TBWinPE/RE Builder a second time with "Create TBWinRE CD, USB Flash Drive (UFD), or ISO file" selected? Or can I simply run MakeDisk after updating the installed WinRE?

A big part of the problem is that if you just run MakeDisk, it gives no indication of what it’s about to write to the USB flash drive. This is a suggestion to improve the UX here -- it would be helpful to know exactly what source image MakeDisk is using.

They are separate builds with different configurations. The boot media files (those in the ISO folder) are not updated when the installed WinRE is updated.

MakeDisk uses the contents of the ISO folder for the boot media. The build info and program versions can be found in the ISO\TBData\TBWinRE.txt file. If you want to create a UFD and an ISO, for example, you would just need to create the build once and then run MakeDisk twice (once for UFD, once for ISO).
