Four years ago I built my computer and installed BIU 1.19 and created multiple Windows 10 boot partitions. Everything worked fine, but recently I updated the BIOS to a more recent version that offers Windows 11 support. Since then I get the error message "Warning: Unable to point UEFI to current boot item (1h 0h)"

I saw the topic about this error and apparently someone got rid of the error by reinstalling BIU. So I was considering to do that, but then I thought: "Why not update BIU from version 1.19 to 1.44?"

Is it likely that such a BIU update would make the error disappear? Are there any risks of updating BIU when skipping so many versions? For example, is BIU 1.44 able to deal with image files that were created with BIU 1.19?

you can update, skipping isn't a problem. But that message is normal and can be ignored (it's just a warning - the bios may have it read-only which is not optimal).

Even though the message can be ignored, it annoys me.

So after making backups of everything, I updated BIU from version 1.19 to 1.44. That made the message disappear! What a relief!
