What is the suggested way to backup an SD and restore it to an SD card of a larger size?

When I backed up the 256G SD drive and then restored it to a 1TB drive the 1TB became a 256G drive.

I got an image of an empty 1TB drive and restore the damaged disk and then extracted each file -- file-by-file from the image.

There's a simpler way, isn't there?

A simple way is to use the Copy function. Choose the Entire drive option, not the partition. On the Options screen, choose Scale to Fit.
The copied partition on the target SD card will have been resized to fill the space.

Both SD cards need to be connected for the copy.
