Does inclusion of WriteChangedSecsOnly=1 in ifw.ini or ifl.ini bypass its support check?

Post by pimjoosten »

I am thinking about enabling Write Changed Sectors Only for all restores by setting WriteChangedSecsOnly=1 in ifw.ini and ifl.ini, so that I will not forget it when I actually do a restore (which just happened). If I want to set Write Changed Sectors Only via the IFW/IFL UI I can only do this if the disk supports this option, because only then is it shown and selectable. What happens if I set this option in ifw.ini or ifl.ini? Do IFW and IFL still check whether the disk supports this option and not use Write Changed Sectors Only if that is not the case or will including it in ifw.ini/ifl.ini bypass the check that is build into IFW and IFL (which I do not want to happen)? This is not clear to me when reading the manual.

Thanks in advance for your reply.
