I currently back up my Win7 install to a removable hard drive.
I would like to run "disk check" on this drive the next time Windoze starts up but I want to be sure it is okay to do this. I always back up and "validate byte for byte" each time to make sure all is good. I have only gotten an error on a Win10 install on my dual boot drive so that image never went to my backup drive. (Still gotta figure that one out)
Can I do disk check without concerns of known issues I could encounter?

yes, you can run chkdsk.

I bit the bullet and used chkdsk and yes, as you say, there was no problem. I have restored one OS from the drive I had Win7 check, to a partition on my boot drive, and everything works fine. Thanks!
