Validate operation reliability

Is the Validate operation 100% reliable to ensure an image file is suited for a Restore operation?
If so, what are the right settings to achieve that.
I've just made an image (full backup using IFL 3.55, faster changes only backups + use metadata hash files settings) of partition C: and it's corrupted according to Validate operation.
