Edit File not written to disc in BIBM

I was trying to clone a Linux Mint system to another PC so I took a system image with IFL and restored it to a partition on the second PC. Then tried to edit /etc/fstab in the partition using BIBM Partition Work. The edit seemed to work but it hadn't changed the file on the partition after I had rebooted.

So I tried it again. I used SAVE and from the parition entry, came out (still in BIBM) and went back into Edit File and the file was changed, but it still reverted to the original on rebooting. So it appears it had changed in some buffer but not written to disc.

I have worked around this but thought I should report it. BIBM 1.75.

That wouldn't change what boots, see the varies GRUB articles at https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/kb ... ies/linux/

But for booting, you may just need the swap option enabled.

You have missed the point, it's in the title. Please read the post again. The edited file did not get written to disc.

fsck -f it from boot media then try again. Also what file system are you using?
