I’m running a EVGA Geforce GTX 1060 graphics card with a maximum resolution 7680x4320 and a Phillips BDM4037U 4K monitor with a native/default resolution of 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. When running BootIt in BIOS the maximum resolution offered is 1024 x 768. When running BootIt UI there are option buttons for resolutions up to 2560 x 1440.

The problem is that the buttons to select 1920 x 1080 and 2560 x 1440 are not selectable, they appear but are greyed out and non responsive.

Why is this? Or better still can anyone tell me how to rectify this so I can select and use the higher resolutions because I assure you 1080 x 1024, the max I can select, looks lousy on a 40 inch 4K monitor.

Those resolutions aren't reported as supported by UEFI.

Different resolutions may be available depending on whether the system has Secure Boot enabled or not. If it's disabled and enabling it isn't a problem, you could try that. On an ASUS board I use, enabling Secure Boot allows the 2560x1440 resolution (I usually also disable CSM and set Secure Boot to Windows mode when I change it). With Secure Boot disabled the max is 1024x768.

Thanks for the info, I’ve just tried all the variations I can think of with secure boot and csm on and off but unfortunately nothing made any difference. Looks like I’m stuck with a blocky display.

If you're not using DisplayPort, it might be worth a try if you have a cable handy.

Good idea but unfortunately I am already using a 1.2 display port,, hmmm I wonder if I can get the higher res using HDMI instead. I'll check if my graphics card supports HDMI and then look for a cable when I get time. Thanks for the input

Okay, tried HDMI and it made no difference. The max I'm allowed to select regardless of which ports I use is 1280 x 1024. Oh well, it is what it is.

With the next version of tbosdt you can use "list uefi videomodes" to see what's there, of course that version isn't available to the public yet.
