Hidden drive visible after copy operation

Post by tas3086 »

After installing Image for Windows (x64) 3.47 and running the command documented below, a new drive letter appears in windows after the copy operation completion. The "TO" drive is the backup drive to my currently operating drive. This backup drive is a hidden drive thru BIBM, and becomes unhidden after the copy completes with an assigned drive letter. Rebooting makes it hidden again. Any ideas how to fix this error?

it's not an error, you're copying an unhidden partition so it won't be hidden when copied, there is currently no inverse to the /unhide option. However, if you had an EMBR and restoring same type/location, then I believe the hidden status in the MBR would be maintained. A trick that may work if this is not using gpt, you could use tbosdt to hide it, then copy then unhide it since the change typically doesn't affect windows drive letter on mbr type when already known.
