IFD missing mouse/keyboard support

Post by borate »

After using IFD restore disk successfully for many years, it now boots up upon restart but there is no keyboard or mouse support.

Any clues on what might have changed?

Thanks for checking in Brian.

Found the problem ... BIOS legacy USB support was disabled. AFAIK this was never changed. Is the CD/DVD optical disk considered a USB device?

In troubleshooting, created a new 3.47 IFD disk that no longer asks for credentials, as did its predecessor. That's a plus. Ours is not to reason why...

borate,

Just a comment about IFD. It's the slowest TeraByte imaging app and it doesn't support UEFI boot. IFL is the fastest TeraByte imaging app and boots in MBR and UEFI systems.

Appreciate that info Brian.

To meet W11 specs, UEFI will soon be enabled, along with GPT. That done, we'll cut a IFL disk and give it a workout.

Perhaps it will even boot older images, made when the system was Legacy, as you indicated in another thread. However, it wasn't clear to me what was required, specifically, to "Create a Boot Item in BIU and the OS would boot."

Take care
