Unfortunately, Deepin won't won't let me exit to a terminal prompt prior to re-instaalling Linux all over again. So I guess I will mothball BooIt for now. on another issue.

On another issue, Is is possible to install and invoke HDparm from a WinRE IFL prompt? If so, I could get rid of Parted Magic on my restore USB becasue and go all-UEFI and not restore to MBR to prep my SSD drives for my OS installations.

I used a Linux Mint boot disk to get a Terminal.

I also did it from an IFL Terminal. Errors were shown but it worked.

I just tried Deepin boot media. I see what you mean. You can't get a Terminal.

IFL Terminal doesn't need sudo.

I just did it from IFL. Again. No errors this time.

OK. I've been wresting with this issue for a minute. But I think I've come to the conclusion that BootIt and Linux in general doesn't like NvME boot drives. Ive tried five distros Ubuntu, EndeavourOS, Manjaro, Mint and Deepin, only the later two would even install and Mint had issues with my Nvidia video card. But I wanted to clarify: can I boot with Image for Linux and run the commands you posted on August 20 without prefacing them with "sudo"?

Our experience with Linux, BIU and NVMe differ. Mine all work but I don't use Linux OS that don't support Secure Boot. I was multi-booting about ten Linux OS at one stage.

That script runs fine in IFL. Without sudo. It will create a ubuntu.xxx in the ESP.

OK. Will boot with IFL and try the commands without the "sudo" preface and without secure boot enabled.
