Extend System Reserve partition

Win 10
System Reserved partition in PW only allows "slide". Resize and copy are greyed out. Free space is below. It is 128MB in size. Updates are failing and it appears that if this partition is too small, it will cause the update to fail.
Can I increase the size?

skipro,

Is it the System Reserved partition or the Microsoft Reserved partition?

Several years ago the default MSR partition size was 128 MB. The default size now is 16 MB. It can't be resized or copied. It's not seen in Disk Management.

What size is the Active partition?

Thanks Brian.
Do any of the System reserve files change when Win 10 is updated?
Reason for this question is I Googled "Win 10 update failure" and a frequent suggestion is to enlarge the System reserve partition so the Win10 update can add "info". If the partition is too small, there is no room for the added data/files and then the update fails. Is this valid or "fake news"? I see no reason for a Win update to need to do this but the frequency of this suggestions "appears" to add validity.

skipro,

I understand it is a real issue. Can you provide some information that will lead to resizing your SRP?

In Win10, run TBOSDT Pro as an Administrator. Enter this...

LIST HD 0 /F /U /W

Can you post a screenshot (or a text file) of the output?

It will be similar to my attachment.

Brtian,
I do not have access to this computer now. What info do you want?
Are they referring to the EFI partitions?

skipro,

I wanted the size and free space of the SRP. Also the partitions on your drive, size, free space and Unused space between partitions. Let us know when you are able.

I suspect your SRP is an ESP.

Brian,
Is your "ESP" = EFI system partition?
If so, I interpreted the articles as suggesting to enlarge the MRP, not the ESP because this MRP is named "System reserved partition". Therefore my confusion. I could not enlarge this partition, MSR, as you confirmed in your first response. Therefore, my post.
It now appears they were referring to the ESP.
I did not try enlarging the ESP because I did not know that was the partition they were referring to. I know I can enlarge this one.
I did not know that a Win update adds to the EFI system partition.
Do you know what is added / updated?

I have the plenty of space next to ESP to resize it adequately.
It appears I was in the "Right church, but the wrong pew".

Please confirm my assumptions and understandings stated above. Feel free to correct any misunderstandings.
Thanks

skipro,

I'd be surprised if your ESP is "too full" as there is usually plenty of Free Space in the partition. Which method are you using to update the Win10 version? Some methods seem better than others.

What error message do you get?
