Hi is it possible to use COPYP2V to convert a Linux machine to a Linux VM for HyperV?
Or is it possible to simply restore the Linux image directly to HyperV?
COPYP2V Linux
Re: COPYP2V Linux
Hello,
COPYP2V is used to copy a Windows installation from a Physical to a VM. It cannot convert a Linux machine.
It is possible to copy directly the Linux machine (or restore the image) to a VM, but I cannot tell if the VM will boot or not.

Re: COPYP2V Linux
Thanks. I tried the script anyway, and it stopped once it tried to make Windows changes (to a Linux Partition). When I tried to boot the partition, there were problems that had to be resolved with Grub to point to the right partition - I think it was too much effort to resolve this issue this time, compared to just re-installing Linux.
