* Errors Exist* showing in BIBM Partition Work

Post by ChuckWW »

On the "Work with Partitions" screen (I am using the current version of BootIt NG), * Errors Exist * shows at the top of the partition list, but no errors are indicated for any of the partitions. In looking at each partition's properties, I did find one that showed a mismatch for the ending number in the LBA, but I corrected that and it still says * Errors Exist * , and there are still no errors shown for any of the partitions.

On the rare occasions I've seen that message in the past, the problematic partition was always clearly flagged.

Chuck,

I understand you are using BING. Can you check your partitions with the latest trial version of BIBM. Boot disk. It might provide useful information.

I'm so sorry, Brian, I erred when I said I was using BootIt NG. I am using BIBM 1.58, so now I see I'm doing this in the wrong forum. Would it be better if I kill this whole thread and re-post it in the correct place?

Resolved!

I decided to delete my existing extended partition, recreate the partitions in it, and restore from backups. As soon as the extended partition was removed, the *errors exist* note was gone, so I'm satisfied that the problem is fixed. Still mystified, though, as to why there was no indication of exactly where the error or errors were. Hopefully, I won't see it again!

You'll typically see an E in a column for the entries with an issue.
Extended partitions sometimes extend beyond the BIOS drive size when
something creates it without taking that alignment in to consideration.
