restoring incremental backup created using simple operations

I've run IfL v3.27 twice to backup an SSD. The first simple ops backup was a full backup, the second (automatically?) was incremental. So the Terabyte_TBI_Backup folder then essentially contains the following TBI files:
backup_full.tbi date 1
backup_inc.tbi date 2
Now my question: when I run IfL to do a restore, I see 2 backups are available, one with date 1, the other with date 2. If I choose to restore the backup at date 2, does it completely restore the drive to its state at date 2 (by combining the date 1 full backup with the date 2 incremental backup)?

Can simple operations backup be forced always to do a full backup, rather than an initial full backup followed by a series of incrementals?

Martin?

I have no experience with simple operations, so I can't guarantee anything but I feel pretty confident that restoring the second backup would restore the target to its state on the date of the second backup essentially, as said, combining the two.

Martin,

See page 151 in the IFW User Manual. Use this in the batch file...

/mi:0

Or you could add this to the [Options] section of ifw.ini...

MaxIncrementals=0

So, if not using Simple Operations all backups need to be restored manually? Full, then inc1, inc2, etc?

no, you just restore what you want to restore and it automatically uses the other files.

Excellent, thanks.
