Image for Windows with BitLocker and TPM 2.0

Being unfamiliar with BitLocker and the implications with image backups I have a few basic questions which I hope can be answered:

I'd like to make some backup images of a server running Windows Server 2012, which has BitLocker enabled using hardware TPM (2.0). Is there anything special I need to do to back this up or just run as normal? Is data automatically encrypted on the backup or is it unencrypted?

Thanks

See this KB article for working with BitLocker partitions:

Basically, if you want to do normal (used space) backups in Windows you need to use VSS (the data will be backed up unencrypted). You can encrypt the backup (.tbi file) with IFW or save it to an encrypted destination if you need it encrypted.

Thanks - I'll read through the KB and let you know if I have any questions.

Cheers.
