Verbose mode is a nice addition but is well overdue. The problem is that on my slowest PC (a netbook) the extra text does not stay on the screen long enough for me to read it. I would certainly not want the loading time to be delayed to see it so it is a good idea, but past it sell-by date.
On my faster PCs I did not even notice the extra text even when I knew it was there after reading the changelog .
