Imaging Win 7 partition ?

Post by swayzak »

Hello

I am going to image a couple of Win 7 partitions prior to upgrading to Win 10.

When imaging with the old BING, you could image a compressed
image easily from within BING to empty space.

I am struggling to replicate this with BIBM / IFD. IFD seems to want to image only to pre-existing partition, not to empty space.

Can someone help here ?

Thanks

create a partition in that empty space and create the image to it as a file
instead.

Thanks

Is there a reason why you can't create a compressed (data only) image to empty space now ?

No reason to since it can just be a file. The other mode was prior to BING
saving to files and was when using unlimited primaries.
