To start with, make sure you are creating the image from IFL (or IFW or IFD) boot media, and not from the running Linux system. In addition, you need to select "Entire Drive" when creating the backup image, and then also select "Entire Drive" when restoring the image to the other system. This ensures that you back up and restore all partitions as well as the MBR area.
Also, is this system using a firmware RAID drive? If so, a common problem with that is that you typically need to change some UUIDs in the grub config file before the restored system will boot. The UUIDs to be changed are the ones associated with the firmware RAID drive. This KB article explains this issue, and how to work with it:

If you are using RAID drive, and need additional help, let us know what version of CentOS you're using, and provide copies of the grub config file on both the source and destination systems. The Grub config file is located at /boot/grub/menu.lst if using Grub Legacy, or at /boot/grub2/grub.cfg if using Grub2 (Centos 7.0 and newer uses Grub2, earlier versions use Grub Legacy).
