Imaging to Exfat formatted external Hard drive

Is there any problem imaging to an exfat formatted drive? Is it slower than NTFS? I am trying it out now and it seems to be a bit slower than when the drive was formatted as NTFS. Are there any other problems I could encounter?

it will be done in raw mode.
