i bu my xp partition twice a week & for a couple months have noticed it increasing by ~200mb every backup.
i just started recording the size of all files >50mb & can't see why its increasing.
for example: backup on 4/13/14=13847mb with 25 files found >50mb=6.27gb
backup on 4/23/14=14023mb with 25 files found >50mb=6.26gb
so, the backup has increased by 176mb while large files have shrunk by 10mb.
any ideas as to whats going on or how I can find what files are constantly increasing?

Are you accounting for hidden files (restore points, recycle bin, etc.)? It could also be smaller files adding up (program updates, temp files, etc.).
Re: backup size constantly increasing
And what about your datas (doc, photos, videos...)? Where are they stored? Inside the xp partition or inside another one?

Re: backup size constantly increasing
i run ccleaner b4 every bu so that takes care of recycle bin, browser cache, etc.
i did have a market data prgm on c drive that updated every day but moved that to my data partition about a month ago, so that wasn't it.
i just ran a search for files >1mb but <50mb changed 2 days ago or later, came up with 36 files=154mb but i'll have to run that afer each bu to be able to compare.
i have plenty of space its just very curious why the constant increase.
my oldest bu is from 3/26 =12248mb & the one from 4/23=14023mb

hmmm-todays bu came in at 11373mb, a 2.7gb decrease from the one 3 days ago.
no change in files >50mb. i'll have to wait for next bu to compare the ones between 1 & 50mb.
very strange.

it picks up any changes on the sector level, so if you defrag, that may
cause a lot of changes.
