For the first time, when using IFL boot disk for a restore operation, I
was asked for an IFL product key before being able to proceed.
This happened to be an IFL V2.85 boot disk.
Since, I didn't have the key handy, I picked up an IFL V2.80 disk and
completed the restore with no issues.
I am assuming that there was something done incorrectly, or omitted
when the disk was made.
Any suggestions?

The only thing that's required is to enter the IFL product key when prompted by makedisk. If you did enter it, it could have been a typo (it needs to be in the xxxx-xxxx-xxxx format)

If you're copying your key from the Terabyte site, it is very easy to
inadvertently include leading spaces with the key. Unfortunately,
MakeDisk does not check the key you supply.
