PHYLock vs. VSS
What reasons might there be to prefer either PHYLock or VSS over the other?

1) I would prefer to used PHYLock every time as TBU makes excellent
products and the utility has been designed to be used with IfW.
2) VSS does not back up restore points whilst PHYLock does.

Re: PHYLock vs. VSS
Thanks, DrT. I did not know that VSS did not back up restore points. So they are just left out of the image, like the page file?
I've been using VSS, because I've had problems with PhyLock timing out (10 minutes) due to disk activity. Even with no applications active, it seems like there is always some activity from updates, MSE, etc. VSS seems to be able to lock the volume much faster.
Maybe the restore points are not that important anyway..
Are there any other caveats regarding using VSS?
