Running IFL GUI in Ubuntu 13.10

./imagel doesn't work in 32 or 64-bit Ubuntu 13.10.
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs doesn't work in 32 or 64-bit Ubuntu 13.10.
Just messing around, nothing critical.

For Ubuntu 13.10, it looks like you need to install the 'libjpeg62' package using the command 'sudo apt-get install libjpeg62' (in previous Ubuntu versions it was installed by default).
I just verified that for the 32-bit version. The 64-bit version is probably the same thing, meaning you would have to install the 'ia32-libs' package as usual, and then install 'libjpeg62' using the same command as above. I'll check that myself in a little while, and post otherwise if that doesn't work.
EDIT: No, the above won't work for 64-bit Ubuntu 13.10. Looks like they've eliminated the ia32-libs package. I'll update this thread (and the KB article on running IFL (GUI) on 64-bit distros) when the procedure is worked out.

Thanks Tom. IFL now works in 32-bit Ubuntu 13.10. I had to use sudo ./imagel otherwise IFL couldn't find the HDs.

You can access disks in IFL as a normal user (without sudo) by adding the user to the 'disk' group, as defined in the file /etc/group. You can do that with the 'adduser' command: sudo adduser <user name> disk
Then log out and back in again for it to take effect (or just reboot).
