Hi,recently install Windows 8.1 in my laptop,i tried to make a TBWinPE following the manual for Windows 8,but don't let me build it,i have installed the last ADK for Windows 8.1,i really appreciate any help that you can give me,thanks

First of all, the ADK 8.1 like Windows 8.1, are both preview versions. Terabyte Support may not have the files needed until after both have been officially released, later this year.

PCfan2013, you will probably have to wait until Terabyte Support releases the WinREPE files for the ADK or perform #1, below, now.
1. Uninstall the ADK and install the WAIK / WinPE 3.1 and then you should have no issues creating the boot media.
2. The following, below, will work, if you have everything that is needed, both the ADK and the WAIK installed separately, meaning you cannot install them both on the same machine.

For anyone, wanting to test this, this how it was done. During the actual testing of the ADK with IFW, a couple of partitions were backed up and verified successfully.

1. With Bootit installed, SYS A has the ADK installed. SYS B has the WAIK 3.1 installed. Both are Windows 7 SP1 x64. Windows 8 was not needed.
2. Create an ADK image on SYS A. I added some optional components but they are probably NOT needed for this test.
3. On SYS B, copy the ADK image to the "WinRE_Backup folder" and rename it to winre.wim. Otherwise, it will use the Windows recovery WIM.
4. On SYS B, run TBWinPE 1.5, as you normally would with a WinPE 3.x image.
5. Create the DVD, USB or whatever is needed to test boot.

I have a partition setup for PE image files and one menu entry setup just for testing. Just copy the image into the test folder and reboot.

One thing, you will quickly notice, that the progress bars during the backup and verification are animated, using the ADK image. The booting is faster. I did not time the backup process for comparisons.

This was done as a test just to see if it would work.

Can you verify if you actually mean TBWinPE and not TBWinRE (included with IFW)?

The latest version of TBWinPE (1.4) should build okay with ADK 8.1 (boot file support is not currently fully functional, though).

I am assuming your question is to the OP. He said he tried to make a TBWinPE. As for the TBWinPE, my response should have been TBWinRE, which is included with IFW as the cmd file. Sorry for the confusion.

Also, a little confusing, latest version of TBWinPE (1.4) vs TBWinRE.cmd which according to the file (1.5).

Yes, I meant PCFAN2013.

TBWinPE 1.4 and TBWinRE 1.5 are at the same level for features. The scripts/files are updated as necessary and version numbers may not match.

Thanks for the quick response,it was just a dumb error that i made,my version of TBWinPE was not the last,now i can build the iso for boot,but what do you mean with "boot file support is not currently fully functional" once the files or the iso are in the thumb drive i can not used for boot and restore? thanks for all your support

Creating the boot file (TBWinPE.bin) isn't fully supported in ver. 1.4 when using 8.1 ADK source. The boot file is for use with the BootFile utility and doesn't affect the standard boot media (UFD, CD, ISO, etc.).
