We can build an IFL partition (containing scripts) on the HD from Ubuntu. I use this to do auto restores.

Is it possible to build this partition so it uses the Bootit BM version of TBOSDT rather than the Pro version?

To make some simple changes to the root filesystem, it is possible to use
the makeISO script (or makeHDD or makePXE with the /c option) as an easy way
to access it. To do that, run the script until you get to the "IFL Boot
Media Settings" screen. Stop there, and go to another terminal and go into
the extracted IFL directory. You will see an initrmfs directory that
contains the root file system. Any changes you make inside that directory
will be built into initrmfs.gz when you finish running the make script. That
directory gets deleted from the IFL directory when the script finishes with
it.

Thanks. I copied tbosdt (BIBM) to /initrmfs/tbu and overwrote tbosdt (Pro).

All looked good but IFL doesn't completely load. It gets stuck on this line...

Brian,

tbosdt is run during boot up to build the restore disc files, so make sure you do both of these items when creating the boot media:

1. make sure that the 'tbosdt' file that you copy to initrmfs/tbu is executable by running 'chmod +x tbosdt' on it (you can check by running ./tbosdt)
2. also copy your bootitbm.ini file with your name/product key in it to initrmfs/tbu - that version requires it to run
