IFW 2.80 occasionally leaves 2 processes running.

Post by TAC109 »

I'm currently testing some changes I'm making to my IFW_Backup DOS
scripts. These tests involve taking full, differential, & incremental
backups of very small partitions. (The backups just take a few
seconds).

After one of many identical Diff image runs, my batch program hung,
using no CPU or Disk. The IFW window had closed, and later examination
of the log showed that the image had finished successfully.

Task manager showed 2 imagew.exe tasks still running, which I did 'end
process tree' on.

Below are the logs for the run. The batch script runs IFW 3 times on 3
different partitions using the DOS 'start /w ...' command for each
invocation.

As I said earlier, identical runs have worked fine, except for this
one. Looks like a subtle bug has crept into IFW?

The logs:-

it always has two - the protection wrapper and the main .exe. haven't seen
it, how often have you seen it? what antivirus are you using?
