In that case, use the selected WIM as you're doing. And just to be clear, when I said "clean" I meant that it's unmodified -- it doesn't need to be the installed WinRE. For example, the WIM you extracted would be a clean WIM. The boot.wim wouldn't be since it was modified. So, I meant that I would use the extracted WIM as the source and not the boot.wim.

Ok. I recreated the RE partition, using that as the new source. Both methods worked perfectly, without any boot loader errors.

Is there a way to copy over the theme settings in Partwork for Windows when you build the RE version? If I set the theme to something other than the default, after I build an RE with Partwork that theme setting does not carry over.

I think there is: BootIt.ini

For me, bootit.ini has nothing but my key and global disk geometry.

You need to enable the "Include 'Application Look' (styles) supporting files" configuration option to copy in those files. In Settings, Plugins tab, select the PartWork plugin, then click the Configure button.

Here' something odd and interesting. Using TBWinPE/RE Builder version 1.41, if I were to create a boot.wim with the PartWork plugin active everything works fine and perfect. However, if chose to build an .iso right after that, changing no other settings, the iso will boot but it will not have PartWork in the TBLauncher. PartWork is included in the data for the iso, but its shortcut in not included in the launcher, whereas with the boot.wim it was.

When you say you built an ISO right after creating a boot.wim, what steps did you use? I'm assuming you created the normal boot media build, exited Builder, restarted Builder, created the boot media again and used MakeDisk to create the ISO. So it was two builds, one right after the other. I assume both the configuration options were enabled for both builds.

As a side note, when recreating the build isn't necessary, you can just run MakeDisk to create the various media types (UFD/ISO/CD).

I created the boot.wim first using the IFW utilities menu, second option. After that I created I created the iso, without exiting or relaunching, using the IFW utilities menu, which does nothing but launch the TBWinPE/RE Builder. In there, I used the first option.
