Thank you. I have just completed a backup. It seemed fairly fast. The shown time to completion was much shorter than indicated.

There were no errors indicated and TBIview showed what I would have expected. My use of IFW is currently as a backup, prior to using Windows Restore and not primarily a means to image the system back onto the system drive.

Three files were generated. I presume that all three will be used to restore the system drive, if I decided to do this.

BTW, is validation byte-for-byte? I didn't see any way to select byte-for-byte like in ver 2.99.

Although 3.64 seems to have worked well, I will probably upgrade to ver 4.x if I am eligible.

When you initially create a full backup, the options window displays after you select the location to save the image.

"Validate" and "Validate Byte-for-Byte" are located there, along with "Compression", "Password", "File Size".

You might check IFW.LOG to see if you get this warning...

"Warning: Validate Byte-for-Byte may fail because the source SSD drive does not support DRAT"

DRAT = "deterministic read after trim"

To confirm that, download and run the free tool HWINFO.

In the Drives section, click on the SSD entry, and look for the TRIM Command.

My SSD reports "Supported (Indeterminate Read After TRIM)"...so it does not support DRAT.

You might consider running backups with "Validate-Byte-for-Byte" using TBWinRE.

Just did a test, and no issues.

I'm curious why you got three files. Did you specify Faster Changes Only Backups?
