I decided to try again.

Ran chgdtype from BIBM install UFD.

Selected in turn:

Convert a Physical drive
HD1 - EMBR
Convert to GPT

Got messages:

Deleting BIBM partition - Unable to lock partition
Press Enter to continue

Pressed Enter and got

Operation failed

I then tried to uninstall BIBM and got "The Operation completed with Errors.

Rebooting did boot Windows though.

Ran chgdtype from BIBM UFD again selecting in turn

Convert a Phyisical Drive
HD1 - MBR

Screen displayed "Converting disk partitioning from MBR to GPT" for more than 15 minutes.

At that point, I gave up and restored the disk to its previous state.

You cannot convert the booting disk.
When trying from BIBM in UFD, are you sure you have selected the correct HD? It should have been EMBR, and not MBR. If it staid 15min at the convertion, it's probably because it is locked? And the UFD is locked. Did the confirmation screen told you there is one system?

I do it from the IFL boot disk. It takes one second.

I was going to use the Change Disk Type button in BIU. Do you recommend
running the script over using the button?

If Windows is installed in the disk, then better to use the script. Otherwise, you can use the button in BIU.
