My script backs up by selecting partition names, and uses dos/windows/linux partition NAMES and/or BootitBM EMBR partition/volume NAMES to locate the correct hard drive ID and partition numbers. So I can handle most any operating system's partitions, and selectively restore any partition by name. To me, disk signatures are a little more cumbersome. I just have to watch out for duplicate partition names if I don't restore to the original location. And again, the nice thing about using a BootitBM and TBOS/TBOSDT script, is that the same script can run under any operating system ... TBOS, DOS, Windows, Linux, thumb drive, and/or CD/DVD ! Thanks, however, for the suggestion. All help is appreciated.


So TERABYTE: How about logl: 9 or 10, would that help solve my Error 80 problem?
(I'll experiment, and turn off the hash for the combine and see if that helps anything. If not, I'll try the logl:10 and see if that catches anything)

I found the IFD option that is causing the error 80, Now can we find out why it is happening?
It is the /sch: option. Removing this option and the COMBINE operation will work to completion with error level 0:

No, the extra levels won't output anything that would help with this case.

is that " in there as part of the sch command? does it make a difference if

Sorry, /sch on the command line did not work Error: 80 ... and it pushes the command line length to 130 characters, which I believe is pretty close to the maximum.

I think it already can't use the d option since the log shows it's using b
... but can you either change /sch to use the d as well or move the command
line to use the b (or no letter) .... is it repeatable on another system?
is it repeatable in linux or windows?
