Startech eSATA expresscard in IFD (ThinkPadT430)

Post by comptools »

Hi Everyone,
Forum is really great and I've been using those tools for years.
Used to use IFD to copy internal HD to external HD through USB.
Drives got bigger IFD still does not support USB3, decided to switcht to eSATA.
Bought Startech eSATA 2- port expresscard, external enclousures with USB3 and eSATA from the same company.
Neither BIOS nor IFD see drives connected to that expresscard. No problem with windows it can see it.
Looked at bunch of material on the web not very helpful.
If you could help, another card? insert a driver into EMBR partiion?
Thanks
D

You could use IFL / partwork.

Or make sure your BIOS has USB legacy support enabled (presuming it's an
onboard port) - you'd access the USB drive via BIOS.

Or make sure your eSATA has a BIOS and it's enabled.

Or use a 1394 or USB2 add in adapter.
