can i install boot menu on a third hard drive ?

Hi

can i install with the last version of BootIt Bare Metal 1.31 a boot menu and have all the files of the boot menu on a third hard disk (i use only for data) ?

with the last version , some files go directly on the first drive

I do not think that this answers your question, but is something that you should be aware of.

The boot manager menu items are defined in a file "DEFAULT.BBM" You should make a backup of this file on another drive, just in case it gets deleted. Moving BIBM to another drive will probably require you to adjust the hard drive definitions in the menu's. You should also make a backup copy of your BOOTITBM.INI file, as that is where the options and password is kept.

You can install to another drive, but HD0 still needs to use an EMBR with
the EMBRL and the MBR is still updated to contain the EMBRI. The partition
and all files would be on whatever the target drive is (which needs to use
an EMBR as well).

could i set in the bios that hd3 is hd0 and store all file and EMBR on the hd3?
or i have to plug hd3 to sata 1 to do it?

if you do a manual install it will ask if you want to assume that is HD0,
then you can just install and set that up as the boot drive.

Otherwise, if you want to boot a different drive but have BIBM load from
another, you'd just install normally to the other drive.
