How can I tell during the install if I have a CLI version of the IfW
install? As I said in my OP, I'm taking quite a lot of meds so I could
have made a mistake. I can tell you that the installation of the
normal and possibly CLi versions are identical.

I do not mind if I have to do a full install of IfW to check it as I
have a frequent backup routine.

You can tell via the IFW installer (name)

You can tell when running makedisk for the gui version the welcome screen
will have (GUI) in it and the CUI won't.

DrT,

The file I used was named ifw_iflgui_en_setup.exe

Was your file named ifw_ifl_en_setup.exe (that is the IFL-CUI file)

Brian,

I rename the files to something more useful on download*, viz Image
for Windows (IFW, IFD-GUI, IFL-GUI, IFU-CUI) v2.97.exe. Just had an
idea, I could check things by seeing what the respective files sizes
are...that was it. I had downloaded the CUI version by mistake.

*I do this for all my downloads.

I checked by file size as I rename my files on download.

That was the problem, I had mistakenly d/l the CLi version during the opiate haze ;) ...nice catch.

Best wishes,

Not really I'm afraid. I have got three consultants very puzzled
indeed. Nothing ever goes smoothly with me.

Please feel free to email if you would like to chat further on that
topic.
