That is just cruel

Post by DrTeeth »

There was me thinking it was the >250mg of morphine that I am taking a
day...but it does seem to be true!

Was it intentional to remove BIBM from the IfL setup included with the
Image for Windows V2.97 (GUI) with IFD-GUI, IFL-GUI, and IFU-CUI
disks?

BIBM is always a separate download.

PartWork is include with full version of IFL GUI.

BIBM has been included in the IfL packaged in the file mentioned in my
OP for the for the past few versions, that is why one's BIBM password
was requested during creation of the ISO to activate it if one already
has BIBM. I rescued v2.69 of the file just to check and it is
definitely present in v2.69 and not in 2.70; that might explain the 15
Mb difference in size between the two versions. I would draw your
attention to section 12 on page 22 of the IfL 2.69 manual and the
graphic on the top of page 23; all of which is suddenly missing from
IfL2.70 in the file mentioned in my OP.

The BIBM functionality is still present in the standalone IfL
downloadable file.

BIBM is and always has been a separate download.

PartWork is included with the full version Image for Linux GUI version. If
you run makedisk and choose simple or custom it will ask for the BIBM
name/password for partwork.

My misunderstanding, sorry

PartWork was included in the IfL GUI that was included in Image for
Windows V2.96 (GUI) with IFD-GUI, IFL-GUI, and IFU-CUI, and one was
asked for the BIBM registration info during the install if one had
elected to install/create the IfL ISO during the install. This is in
the IfW manual.

PartWork has been a feature of IfL that is included in Image for
Windows V2.xx (GUI) with IFD-GUI, IFL-GUI, and IFU-CUI since IfL v2.84
and it is missing in IfL that is included in Image for Windows V2.97
(GUI) with IFD-GUI, IFL-GUI, and IFU-CUI2.97. It is still available in
the standalone IfL.

I hope that I have explained the situation well enough for you see
what I mean. I can create a screencast to show you what I mean, but it
would be much easier (even though I do not use it much at all) to have
a TeamViewer session with you and let you see my screen so I can show
you what I mean.

DrT,

I just downloaded that file. It is 83310 KB.

The BIBM screen was present in the IFL makedisk.

Brian,

Hope you are well.

I am downloading it again and it seems to be the correct size.

Looks like TBU has fixed it, can be no other explanation.

I would imagine if the issue were file corruption, the install file
would be so FUBAR that it would not be usable. I did so many installs
and uninstalls last night as I thought I was imagining things.

Sounds like I may have a collectors' item ;-). Do you want a copy of
the 'limited edition' one for free as you are a colleague, LOLZ?

It's not in the CUI version, perhaps that was it, using the .cfg from the
cui somehow?
