Regarding MAC partitions, please comment on the following statement:
"Terabyte products do not have any problem with MAC partitions except
that they cannot save the images inside hfs+ partitions.
(IFL can save inside non-journaled hfs+ partitions)"
What then are the "RESTORE" implications for images made of a whole HD
having both MAC and NTFS partitions?

you'd just restore. Use the "GTP Hidden from OS" restore option.
